10 Steps To Building Good Credit
Are there only 10 steps to building good credit?
No way!
There are many things that you can do and should not do that can help you.
These are just basic things to get you started on the rode to credit paradise.
Let's face it; we all need to have credit, so make sure yours ends up helping you instead of hurting you.
These 10 steps to building good credit can eventually help you become a valuable commodity and you can end up getting better rates and fees in the long run.
? Make your payments on time every month. This will keep fees low and your creditors happy. A good combination!
? Maintain low balances on your credit cards. If you can't pay them off entirely every month, keep them as low as you can. Not only does this save you money, but it also let's creditors know that you are a good risk.
? Start obtaining credit when you start working. By starting out young, you can establish good experiences with credit. But, never take on what you can not afford.
? Do not take on more than you can handle. Having too many creditors or too many credit card accounts can and does hurt. Limit them to what you need.
? Be responsible. Make purchases for things you can afford, not those that you want. Adapt a 48 hour ?think it over' time period before making big purchases to stop impulse buying.
? Do not go over your limit. This will not only show creditors that you are not careful and accurate, but it will also cost you in fees.
? Pay them off early. If you have a loan for your car, furniture, or student loans, try to pay them off early. This will save you money in the long run by eliminating the interest charges. It will also help show creditors that you are a good risk.
? If you are having trouble getting started, try to open a gas card or department store credit card. This can help you to get started as they are usually low limited cards. In other words, they are less risky to creditors than bigger limited cards are.
? When you go to purchase a large investment, such as a car or home, make sure you shop around for the best rates and the best fees. It can save you thousands of dollars. Get the largest payment you can afford with the shortest amount of time that you can handle. This too will save you.
? Be wise. Simply do not purchase what you can not afford to pay off.
These simple steps can help you build credit wisely. By making the right choices from the beginning, or getting on the right track on the middle of the road, you will find that there is no limit to how well you can do with regards to your credit.
